Myrna Loy [1905–1993] [USA] - a 12.5cm x 17.5cm Hollywood Fan Photograph

One of the silent stars who managed to make the transition between the silents and talkies. She continued to play vamps until she signed with MGM in the eary thirties getting enduring fame in hte William Powell 'Thin Man' movies [1934]. She was named the Queen of Movies in 1936. She had almost continuous work from 1925 until 1981.

When these are described as 'signed', it is on the negative, these signatures are facimilies done on the film plate and not on the photo after it is printed by the artist themselves.

This item is an original period [1930's] photograph not a reproduction or modern reprint.

These smaller format photos were sent to Movie Fans worldwide in response to fan letters or photo requests. Some Artists, but not all, had these small photos stamped with "Kindly Acknowledge Receipt of Photo. Upon Receipt of 25c to cover Expense, I will send you a Large 8x10 Portrait' - which is interesting.

Most of these Fan photos were actually small versions of the artist 8x10 Studio Photo portraits.
