Michael West [1915-1981] was an artist, architect and landscape designer. Studied graphic art St. Martin’s School of Art, London 1955 -1960; Willoughby Art Centre, Willoughby 1961-65; Chelsea College of Art, London 1965-66.
Michael also taught lithography & screenprinting at Willoughby Art Centre N.S.W. He participated International Biennial Cracow 1968 & 1970; Biella, Turin 1971; Florence, Italy in 1972.
Michael had a busy exhibition career: exhibiting in the Four Printmakers (Arts Council Gallery, Sydney, 1972), he held a one-man exhibition in Melbourne,1973; and exhibited annually with Sydney Printmakers.
His work was included in the Arts Council Exhibitions in 1972 & 1974. Michael also participated in the Print Council Exhibitions of the same years and exhibited regularly from 1967 in Australia, Poland and New York being also represented in Twelve Australian Lithographers held in 1975.
